
Meet Lucy Millar-Hume

The LA Face Academy offers beginner and advanced-level CPD courses which are also recognized by Hamilton Fraser Cosmetic Insurance. Lucy is a JCCP, BACN, and BDNG Member and ACE Group Registered Practitioner.
Lucy was recently nominated as a Finalist in the National CPD Awards 2023 for 'CPD Trainer of the Year', and in 2022 she was nominated as a Finalist in the National Aesthetic Awards for 'Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner of the Year'.
Lucy holds a Master's Degree in Aesthetic Medicine with Distinction, from the Queen Mary University of London and was trained in injectable aesthetics in 2007. She was subsequently trained One-2-One by Dr. David Ecclestone in 2009 and Dr. Raj Aquilla in 2015, both recently named by the press as two of Britain's Top 10 Botox Doctors.
She has also attended MD Codes™ Masterclasses with Dr. Mauricio de Maio since 2016 and continually trains and updates herself through the RA Summit Academy.
Lucy has been a clinical educator for over 15 years and holds the Award in Education & Training (AET). She has trained medical professionals in injectable aesthetic procedures for over 8 years. She also has a Batchelor's Degree in Marketing, a Diploma in Business & Finance, and the BTEC Laser, Light & Associated Therapies. She is certified and proficient in many non-surgical practices. Lucy has always been passionate about art and corporate fundraised for the Tate Gallery before qualifying as a nurse. Her artistic nature enables her to view patients holistically.

Foundation Botulinum Toxin A for Beginners

with 8 hours CPD Accreditation
After a one-month preparation period, including two complimentary shadow sessions and workbook materials, this one-day course is delivered followed by a half-day follow-up session to consolidate 2 weeks later. The course introduces beginners to the foundational theory and techniques of injecting the upper face with Botulinum Toxin A. The course covers the history of aesthetic medicine and Botulinum Toxin, neurotoxin pharmacology, dilution, and storage, patient assessment, psychology and consultation, advanced facial anatomy, and complications management. Teaching involves live demo treatments and 4 models. Key texts and research articles supplied. Business start-up advice offered.

Advanced Peri-oral & Lip Filler

with 8 hours CPD Accreditation
A one-day course taught one-2-one, introducing injectors with a minimum of 6 months of lip filler experience to the advanced theory and practical techniques of injecting the peri-oral and lip areas with Hyaluronic Acid fillers. Training incorporates ideas from various methods including the MD Codes™.
The course covers the history of filler, filler compositions, and rheology, patient assessment, psychology and consultation, complications management, advanced facial anatomy, and see a live demo treatment.

Filler Complications Management

with 4 hours CPD Accreditation
A half-day course introducing the advanced theories of hyaluronic acid filler complications management using Hyaluronidase (injectable and topical varieties).
The course uses current ACE guidelines to support learning and covers filler rheology, patient assessment and diagnosis, usage protocols, and drug facts about Hyaluronidase.
Live demo and 2 models required - £100 per model.

Skin Peeling for Beginners

Skin Peeling is an advanced aesthetic procedure and is essential for every practitioner to offer in a successful aesthetic clinic. The course covers the classifications of chemical skin peeling, skin conditions and diseases, patient consultation, assessment, protocols and documentation, anatomy, and physiology.
Teaching involves a live demo treatment and 4 models to gain hands-on practical experience using superficial acids, including glycolic, salicylic, lactic, and mandelic acids. Key texts and research articles supplied.

Non-medical Prescribing Course DPP Service

The Non-medical Prescribing Course DPP Service is open to delegates seeking to acquire the V300 non-medical prescribing course. All those who apply for the Non-Medical Prescribing v300 Course require a DPP (Designated Prescribing Practitioner) or PA (Practice Accessor) before application. The V300 non-medical prescribing course is a dual award of independent and supplementary prescribing designed for nurses, midwives, advanced clinical practitioners, and the allied health professions. Our expertise in Aesthetics will take your career to the next level.
Fee includes 90 hours supervised practice as required by the University (consisting of online and in-clinic learning), assessment support and proof reading, email support access throughout the course for help with course material.
